Irwell Vale, Ramsbottom

Saturday 07th October 2017

THE WALK

A steady climb up to Holcombe Moor. We cross fields, moorland, woods and there is some road walking. On a clear day nice views. After rain, care to be taken in some areas underfoot. Points of interest in this walk: on the last leg of the walk from Ramsbottom we follow part of the Irwell sculpture Trail, passing 4 of these. We also pass through Chatterton village where there is a peace memorial garden and information regarding a Luddite riot in 1826.
