Ascent of Pen-Y-Ghent

Saturday 12th August 2017

THE WALK

Most of us are familiar with Pen-y ghent as one of 'Yorkshires 3 Peaks'. The walk commences witha short flat road section before joining tracks and fields. There are short sections of scrambling and a steep escarpment on Pen-y-ghent. The path along the ridge may be wet and boggy in a few places. The descent steepens as you drop down across Foxup Moor. There are also a couple of high ladder type stiles to negotiate. The Golden Lion has both indoor and outdoor hiker (and dog) friendly spaces.
