Prestbury, Cheshire

Saturday 22nd July 2017

A walk celebrating high summer (weather permitting), meandering through pastoral scenes of English country life. Stiles and styles aplenty.

Suggested route: Aim for Springfields car park in Prestbury village. Postcde: SK10 4DG. Exit M60 (N&E) at junction 3 signed Cheadle Wilmslow. Continue on the A34 for 6 miles, over several roundabouts, passing signs for Handforth Dean, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge. After 6 miles you see a sign for Prestbury A538, first exit off the roundabout. Follow this road for four and a half miles. After the first mile and a half you will pass the Mottram Hall Hotel on the left; then the Bulls Head pub on the right. This road winds past a herd of roaming giraffes on the right hand side, just before the village sign for Prestbury on the right hand side. As you pass a Co-opstore on the left start to indicate left as you will take the first exit on the mini roundabout signposted for Stockport. This is New road which passes over the river Bollin. Pass 'Mint' restaurant on the left and indicate left and turn into Springfields car park.

NB there are varying new speed limits along the entire route with cameras so beware.

 'C' walk 7.9 miles.
