Hoghton, the river Darwin and the Leeds/Liverpool canal

Saturday 24th March 2018

The walk starts from the car park of the recently burnt down  Boatyard Inn next to the Leeds/ Liverpool canal. The route takes us down a steady descent to the River Darwen through Hoghton Bottoms and a corresponding ascent away from the River. After walking through fields there is another steady ascent before descending to the canal and back to the boatyard.
If not freezing, this will be a fairly muddy walk.
